Intellectually I knew what the benefits of a gratitude practice were. I studied Positive Psychology and I learned about it in several yoga trainings that I had attended over the years. But, it wasn’t until I experienced it that I really believed it.

All of this empowers us to change...so that we experience less suffering. Yoga offers us the resources to look at our shadow (those parts of us that are unconscious), to investigate the ways in which our lived experiences have impacted us and clouded the lens by which we see the world. Why? Because what we don’t transform we transmit. Because when we take the steps necessary to heal ourselves, we heal the world.

When the crown chakra is balanced we have the ability to perceive, analyze and assimilate information. We are open-minded and able to question our beliefs. We are connected to spirit. A balanced 7th chakra allows us to feel fulfilled and on purpose, as if we are living as our truest, highest self. It is a sense of bliss.

When the third eye chakra is balanced we feel intellectually present. We are focused and have a clear vision of what we want our life to be like. Our imagination guides us and we can tune into our intuition...and trust it. We have the ability to think clearly, trust our inner wisdom and have a healthy detachment from worldly goods. We can see beyond the material world.

When the throat chakra is balanced we are able to speak our truth and can express ourselves appropriately. We are confident enough in our beliefs that we can share them unapologetically. We are more apt to create the life that we desire, on that is on purpose.
