We must stay engaged and do something. But, when we are feeling that deep sense of overwhelm our physiology may not allow us to move forward. We may not feel we are able to make decisions beyond our daily tasks. We feel stuck. We feel 'paralyzed' to some extent. So what can we do to reduce VUCA?

Automating these habits has allowed me to be more grounded and rooted in my own body and my own power. They’ve allowed me to SEE how simple it can be to get the kind of rest and nourishment that my body needs in this current phase of life.

It comes down to this. I need to be well. I need to be nourished. And I, unlike many others on this planet, have every opportunity available to me to be well and nourished. So how dare I not. Because we have work to do and we are living in a time of upheaval, uncertainty and chaos. This means that getting rooted in my truth is even more important.

The physical practice of yoga was my gateway into the deeper layers of this ancient system designed to alleviate human suffering (body, mind and soul). It is THIS part of the yoga practice that has transformed the way that I live my life. It has brought me a deeper sense of who I am and who I want to be.

I spent this time between Christmas and New Year's reading and reflecting on the Eight Pillars of Joy that these two spiritual leaders came up with and it has been profoundly impactful. Now my intention is to put them into practice and I would love to invite you to come along with me. For the next 8 weeks I am going to unpack each of the Eight Pillars of Joy and create tools to practice them.

Often times yoga is translated to mean union or ‘we are all one’. If you believe this and want to practice this I would like to invite you to join me in a little svadyaya (self-study). How am I showing up for my community? How am I showing up for those who are being harassed, oppressed, detained, abused, stripped of their access to basic needs? How am I showing up for those who do not have a roof over their head or enough food to eat? How am I showing up?
